Question about Cancun/Playa Del Carmen??

Question

I'm thinking of taking a trip to Playa Del Carmen the last week of December, first week of January. I'm wondering how the weather is at this time? Does it rain a lot, is hot? Do I need a jacket for the nights? Also is it very busy with tourists at this time? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much in advance!! : )

That is the best weather of the year. It hardly rains, and you don't need a jacket. It generally doesn't get much higher than 80 in the day, and low 60s in the night.  However, it is the busiest season as far as tourists go. Hotels will be more expensive, as will flights.

That's a great time.  Rainy season is over and the chance of a hurricane is about zero.  Days are warm; not hot.  The only chance that you'll need a jacket in the evening is if a cold front sweeps across the gulf.  I was in Campeche (on the other side of the peninsula during the week between Christmas and New year's) and it got into the forties.  but that doesn't happen often.

xlnt time I was there last January, no jacket in the evening. little rain at night,seems like a slower time of the year.
