Question:

Question about Circuit City's TV/ Home Theatre Installation?

I'm debating if I should get a TV Home Theatre installation done from Best Buy or Circuit City.

I'm pretty confident Best Buy can get the job done but Circuit City is pretty much $350 cheaper but not sure how good they are when it comes to TV/ Home Theatre installation.

Can anyone please help.

Thanks.

  1. Your choosing between Best Buy or Circuit City so I will not recommend installing it yourself. I will choose Best Buy, their Magnolia crew and those geek squad are better technically, than Ckt City techs. But Ckt City is cheaper than $350?! By mentioning the installation cost, I will assume that budget is also a factor, then go for Ckt City! any way if you are not satisfied you can use the $350 to hire local geeks and get it done what you want. Be practical, get the best sound system rather than spending $350 for labor..

  2. If you know what you are doing save the cash and do it yourself. It's not that hard. However if you do not go and pay someone else to do it. I would not suggest either Best Buy or Circuit City. Mostly they have kids who in many cases don't know any more than you do. Magnolia from Best Buy is a step up but if you really want it done properly there are many high end video stores that can provide proper installation and calibration for a home theater.

  3. Are you looking to WALL MOUNT and HIDE your wiring?

It's real important to know what TYPE of setup you have planned...even the installers need to know what is expected.

THEN they can quote the proper price.....

And if you are doing this ONLINE, you must make sure you are purchasing the correct package....

Because that Circuit City package is likely the setup and installation of a TV on a stand, and not a Wall mount <with> hidden wiring.....

Oh, and don't FORGET.....NEW TVs do NOT require CALIBRATION or MONSTER HDMI cabling....

They need installation only....and a $30 HDMI cable and that's it.....

Or you can save even more.....

    http://www.monoprice.com

and type in HDMI 1.3 in their search box.......

  4. Go to radioshack's website and find link that shows you how to hook up your home theater. Goodluck!
