Question about Collection Agencies

Can Collection agencies (referring to NCO Financial) go into your bank accounts or take you to court if you don't pay? I plan on paying however I don't have the funds right now to pay them and I'm worried that they will go into my bank account where we deposit my husbands cheque to pay our monthly bills and loan payment.
