The second option with Delta SkyMiles Amex will give you most benefit if you are looking into Frequent Flyer Miles Program.

After getting your card, you can start earning points every time you use it. $1.00=1 mile while many places like gas stations, grocery store, drug stores, cell phone carrier, and of course Delta Air Lines give you double points $1.00=2 miles.

Ameican Express also offers different types of promos you can enroll throughout the year to give you double/triple points.

They also have sign-up/first time use bunuses and spending bonuses etc. to get you hooked.

If you already have exsisting Delta SkyMiles account, you can give that number to American Express when you apply for the card. If not AMEX will open one for you.

Your points start accumulating in your SkyMiles account and your monthly statement(bill) will tell you how many points you earned during that month. Pretty easy!

You do need to call AMEX and ask, but I am almost certain you cannot earn Rewards miles with the Blue card.

If you want to concentrate on SkyMiles get the delta SkyMiles American Express card.  It is also the only card that directly earns SkyMiles - all of the others earn AMEX rewards  miles which can then be transferred to your Delta account.
