Question about DishNetwork DVR?

Does a DVR let you record a channel, while watching another channel? If so, does it let you record 2 channels at once? Can you set a timer for the recorder? Like, for example, if my show comes on and i know im going to miss it, can i set the timer before i leave so it will record while im gone? Also, can i delete what i record? because a lot of times my shows come on at the same time, but different channel, so i was wondering if i can record that show just for the time being, and then watch it and delete it. One last thing, there's not a limit for my recording is there? I am not going to be charged to record am i?

  1. In order to do what you want, you will have to get a dual tuner dvr (522,625, 622, or 722).  This enables you to watch two different programs, or record two.  You can also record two programs and watch something that you recorded previously.

The dvr does have a hard drive that only allows you to record so much.  If you record in HD it takes up much more memory.  As far as being charged as long as you pay the DVR fee that is the only charge you will pay.

My wife and I have a 722 (dual tuner HD rec) and we love it.  You can also do a dish dvr advantage plan and save some cash.  You might have to ask for it but it's worth asking.
