Question:

Question about EWCM?

Excuse the somewhat graphic nature of this question, but I can't seem to find any information about this on the internet.

Basically what I want to know is whether or not female ejaculate can be mistaken for egg white cervical mucus. I'm on CD22 of my cycle (which are normally very irregular and have been taking fertility meds this month) and noticed today that I definitely had what appeared to be EWCM. However, I did have an o****m earlier and was wondering if these fluids could be mistaken for EWCM. It was definitely not seminal fluids as there was no penetration of any kind. I also have been experiencing cramps the last 2 days and even weirder, what appears to be some kind of ovarian "twitching". Not painful, just weird. Due to PCOS, I am not used to what normal ovulatory symptoms are and so I am clueless.

Any comments would be appreciated, and apologies if my question seems a bit odd.

  1. When you are sexually aroused... you do produce a fluid very similar to EWCM. The best way to see what type of cervical mucus (CM) you have is to literally insert 2 fingers into the v****a so you can take a small amount right off of the cervix. This will give you a more accurate reading as to what type of CM you have. It is very easy to mistake the two if you do not check at the cervix.

As for the symptoms that might be considered ovulation signs... some people feel a cramping or pinching sensation at ovulation while others may not feel a thing. I use fertilityfriend.com to also track my temps and test results on my ovulation predictor kits. It really helps out when you want to keep track of several signs at a time to more accurately detect ovulation.

I hope this helps and I wish you all the best!!
