Question:

Question about Eczema or itchy skin?

I've been wondering if I have eczema. The back of my neck has itched intensely for years, in different patches depending on the day. I was just looking up eczema on the internet and most of the symptoms don't describe me. I don't have red bumps, rashes or scaley skin. It just itches, a lot. The more I scratch, the more it seems to itch. The only way I get rid of it, is to just ignore it by sheer force of will. Now I KNOW I need to get it checked by a doctor but I'm traveling for my work at the moment and can't, so I'm wondering if anyone can enlighten me to why my neck should be so irritable.

  1. use crisco like lotion leave it on dont use anything scented and use body wash with oatmeal in it if your shampoo is scented wash your hair in the sink dont let it get on the irritated area and keep it clean and very dry other than the crisco

  2. Well I have a mild case of eczema, it was even more apparent when I was pregnant... On my belly and mid section, thighs and backside. Anyway mine does not itch, it was just very flaky skin and dry skin. I am personally a home remedy type person, so I started using olive oil right out of the shower, and taking a tablespoon of olive oil a day including one tablet of vitamin e  and plenty of water, and well... I dont have that issue anymore.

Since yours is itchy I would highly recommend going to a doctor, also try looking into teas, loose teas, like from Japan or China, lots of them cure stuff, also look up foods, you may or may not be allergic to something. Ask the doctor to an allergic food test, you never know!

  3. Well, my best friend has eczema on her hands and it used to get so bad that her hands were red, scaly, (or as she put it, grandma hands), and sometimes would bleed randomly from being so dry.

But, she used really heavy creams,  i think she used, gold bond lotion or something like that. And it looks way better and she says it doesn't itch much anymore.

So maybe you should try using some lotion on it, and see what happens. You could also try going to a doctor :) they always help

It may not be eczema though, it could also be allergies maybe.
