Question:

Question about Frontline - the flea product?

I applied frontline to my dog tonight. Probably less than five minutes later my husband tries on these gloves he also got at the vet that are the type with little nubs to groom the cat with - and goes over and starts going crazy on the dog with them just to goof around. Well - of course this screwed up the frontline application site and now his fur looks all wet around where I applied it since he basically just rubbed the product around and probably dispaced quite a bit from the dogs skin onto his fur - looks like a wet patch on his shoulders now. So my question is - will the frontline still be effecive? Not sure what to do or if there is anything I really can even do.

  1. the site of application usually looks like on big wet greasy glob for several days after applying it anyway. it should still work to coat the skin well enough, although if you have a severe flea infestation, you may need to take additional measures like apply the next dose a little earlier than planned (it's about a month before you generally apply another dose) or run a flea comb thru the dog's fur very well and get as many off as you can on your own.

however, Frontline has a 1-800 # if you'd like to ask them yourself. they'll give you better advice about their product than anyone here can.

  2. When i aply frontline, 5 mins after it looks like a wet patch the size of a large coin. Shoud still be effetive. In the morning brush him with a flea comb and check if theres any dead fleas. If theres all still alive in 2 days get more frontline, but check when its safe to apply again.
