I am 13 years old golf avidly. I mostly use my public course, seeing its the nicest in the area, even better than the small country club we have. I never wear a collared shirt, ever. I didn't feel the need to seeing both courses arent great. People told me i should always wear one, other people told me theres not need to because im 13. What do you think?

  1. I guess my only comment would be to look a Tiger Woods!

  2. Doesn't matter you 7 years old or 13, not all but most of golf courses in the world have dress code...  Dress code are for everybody, no exception...

  3. As you play longer and become more experienced in life and golf, you will see that your approach to golf mirrors your attitude in life.  If your course doesn't have a policy, then no problem.  If they do and are not enforcing it, you should respect the game and the policy and wear a collared shirt. Eventually, you will be in a situation where it is required.  If you practice it everyday, then you will not run into any problems when that day comes.

  4. A dress code = Smarter Players

    Smarter Players = Less Attitude

Less Attitude = More Respect and Manners

More respect and manners = More golf playing partners

More Golf Playing partners = More rounds of golf

More rounds of golf = Better Golfer

    Better Golfer = Lower Handicap

    Lower Handicap = Pro Golfer

Pro Golfer = Loads of money!!

Loads of money = Girls / Fast Cars / Big Houses

Girls / Fast Cars / Big Houses = Happy Life

  5. No you dont have to wear one unless the course you are playing has a dress code, just check before you play.

  6. The type of shirt you wear is not going to affect your game unless it hinders your swing in some way. It is more about dress code. Most courses require a collared shirt.

I say you should wear whatever is most comfortable while staying within the dresscode of the course you play.

  7. DOESN'T mean that of you're 13 you don't need to wear collared shirt.even I'm also 15 and i do wear a collared shirt for that while and i even tuck my shirt in . that's the rule you need to follow or else they might not permit ye.like in golf you need to play with a club not with a cricket bat, similarly in golf you also need to play wearing collared shirt not wearing a collarless football or a cricket jersey.hope you get what i mean!

  8. wearing a collar shirt is part of the attire u should

  9. if they dont have a dress code wear what you want but if your going to play golf at different courses you should get used to wearing collared shirts and dress pants or shorts because your better golf courses have dress codes

  10. If it is the Winter Season, most courses will waive their dress code, because they understand that you will want to wear warmer clothing. You should make sure that you wear something nice, still.

  11. try some free lessons to help you get started

  12. Proper golf attire includes a shirt with a collar.  Some courses don't have any dress code, but if you always wear one you will never have a problem playing any course.

  13. Age differences should not change proper attire in golf.  If you want to look like you actually know what you are doing, at least put on a collared shirt.  I take pride in beating people who dress like garbage on the golf course...

  14. The standard at most of the "upscale" clubs is "collars and sleeves" for men, no jeans or cut offs. For women, "collars OR sleeves." It's also the standard for every high school and college golf team I've ever seen.

As a coach, I also think that my team plays better when it's properly dressed. Sloppy dressing leads to sloppy everything else.
