Question about Graduate School

I want to go to a top Graduate school for an MBA ( UC berkeley, Stanford, UCLA, Northwestern)

I heard from several books that it's better to get a bachelors degree in something other than business, is this true? I want the best chance possible to get into the best colleges.

And should I choose to go to a prestigious university for undergraduate or a normal one? I believe id have a better chance of getting in the top percentile of my class at a normal college.

  1. Your major does not matter in the scheme of things. What does matter are your grades, your test scores (e.g. GMAT, MAT, TOEFL, and GRE), recommendations, demonstrated leadership ability, intellectual ability, and accomplisments. I would be more concerned about developing yourself and developing a track record of achievements while worry less about your major.

  2. You should major in something that is of interest to you, not because it gives you the best chances at something.
