Last Ent Wife -- that's a good question -- the picture of my house shows my backyard before it was re-done, so the picture might be old even though the date says 2008. Good observation.

The creators of Google Map didnt check their invention very clearly, so they are leaving mistakes behind.

The orange thing is just a picture, it's not done very well.

If you type in Area 51 and 'travel' around there you will find a triangular shape, concentric cirlcle and are measured precisely 1 point something miles apart, and roads that lead to know where....

Looks like a Mountain range to me.  Kinda weird though.

EDIT - Okay so just for fun I typed in my home address for the satellite image.  It showed my entire subdivision as a dirt lot with nothing but streets running through it.

My house is 5 years old.  I wonder how old these satellite images are??

It Could be some type of Military Base  or Future City,of

some kind,,,,very odd,,,that is HUGE
