Malcolm is my favourite show in the world hehehe she didn't die and otto didn't eat her. but he did accidently eat his favourite cow which he had in his will) whom Francis accidently killed. he prpbably got confused betwwn the names Gretchen and Helga

Ok, so HELGA is a cow- Otto obviously loves her, so one day he asks Francis to brand her, even though he feels bad for her. So Francis takes HELGA out back and puts too much burn chemical on her, so when he puts the hot iron on her, she blows up. Francis covers it up by giving her to the ranch butcher. Later on that night, Otto goes to the restaurant by the ranch and orders a steak... not knowing that it is HELGA.

So he never ate his wife, just a beloved cow.
