Question about HDMI hookups for home theater system?

I just bought a hi def TV, a Sharp Aquos 1080p. It has two HDMI ports.

I'm about to buy a new home theater receiver and a blu ray dvd payer. The receiver will have three HDMI ports, 2 in, one out.

Here's how I'm thinking about hooking everything up. Please tell me if I'm wrong about it, and if so, how it SHOULD be hooked up.

Blu Ray HDMI output to receiver HDMI input 1.

Cable box HDMI out to receiver HDMI input 2.

Receiver HDMI output to TV HDMI input.

Is this right?

Bonus question: Do you think Blu Ray will win the format war?

  1. It will win almost 100% for sure HD DVD quit see http://crave.cnet.com/8301-1_105-9873848... And how will you route the audio? for video your setup is great but i would recommend all of the things (blu ray and cable) to go to tv hdmi (better video less loss) and audio out from tv to receiver (via optical cable)

  2. your setup will be perfect. thats exactly how they say to do it. everything through the reciever. A+.

blu ray has already won the format war. walmart said theyre gonna quit selling hd dvd players and then on the 16 of February toshiba said that they were going to quit producing hd dvd stuff.
