Question about Halogen Lights and Home lighting

Hello,

I have replaced all of the halogen down lighters in my kitchen with LED lights that generate loads less power (my eco friendly self) but I have noticed that when I turn them off they stay on, very lightly lit. This didnt happen before with the halogens.I thought at first, as they are LED's, they would stay on for a bit but I came down this morning and they were still lightly lit.

Is there power going through them all the time? Is my house wired wrong? If so why didnt the Halogens stay lit? Is it something to do with them needing less power?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

  1. I think that LED lights are run on DC.  I dont know about halogen lights because halogen is just a gas that they put in a bulb. House wiring is AC.

So maybe you are missing something.
