I heard that you can stop your opponents by hitting the human pressure points. For how long will the opponent's movement stop?

  1. That all depends on what movement you want to stop, how you want to stop it, and how long you want it stopped.  Pressure points are hard to hit and use properly, but they are very effective.

If you are looking for a single attack move to drop your opponent, you certainly will not find it on here.  You need to find a good instructor to show you.

  2. For some points, the "stoppage" is directly related to the amount of force and duration of hold.

How long does your arm twinge after you bang your funny bone?  The harder you hit it, the longer you feel it.

  3. Pressure points are not the answer you are looking for. Here are a few reasons why I say that:

    1) they don't work on everyone, about 30% of the population do not respond to them.

    2) the applications are not as simple as hitting a point. It takes a lot of skill and training to be able to make them work most of the time.

    3) they are dangerous. Sounds like you do not have the training or knowledge to have this knowledge in the first place.

    4) those that really know the pressure point applications are not about to teach them to anyone that ask.

  4. Don't rely on pressure points. People's bodies work differently. If you don't hit pressure points exactly on the money, the other person will laugh at you. It's the same with pain compliance holds. If the person has a high tolerance it's a waste of time...

  5. Order the book "Humane Pressure Points" from www.dillman.com.

How long you stop a person depends upon how sensitive they are to those particular points and the points or sequence used.  I was paralyzed for well over 2 minutes by three strikes in the correct order.

  6. you watch wwe alot , you need to play kong fu i play too

  7. Pressure points are incredible.  Results from being hit on a pressure point can range from pain to lost of movement of a particular limb, to ill health to even death.

Some martial artist build up muscles to cover up some of the pressure points. Others condition the area, by constantly striking  some of the pressure points areas to desensitize them. These methods will make it a lot harder to strike those pressure points.

Your question is similar to "if you knock someone out, how long will he stay unconscious?"

That depends on how hard he was hit and how fast his body can recover. Each person will have a  different rate to recover and each pressure point will have different purpose and weighing.

One thing i know for sure is that it is not nice to get your pressure points hit, it is bloody painful.
