Question:

Question about Hydrogen generator?

by  |  earlier

I read there is a hydrogen generator that can produce HHO around 3-4 liter per minutes.

I wonder, that generator only contains around 4 liter (1 galon).

If it is working, that means it just takes around 1 minute to finish all the water.

After that, what ? is it still working without water?.

So, that generator only save gasoline only in 1 minute driving, after that will the engine take gas like usually ?

or do we need pull over & fill the water every certain minutes ?

That's my big question about hydrogen generator that we can find in the marker.

Anyone can advise me ?

Thanks

  1. Firstly - HHO? Sounds like a potential scam as I see that term a lot with wacky hydrogen concepts.

The result of electrolysis is actually a mixture of H2 and O2 gas. Gas is much less dense than liquid. To give you a general idea - 1 L of this gas mixture might be produced by 1-10 mL of water.

But back to the scam part... electrolysis is not a practical means of hydrogen fuel enhancement. Be very wary of folks who suggest anything of the sort. There's altogether too much truth to the saying "The only thing free are the lies"

  2. SCAM SCAM

These do not work, they are a total scam. You will always consume more electricity electrolyzing the water than you can get back by combusting the gases. Not even close.

Plus this is an explosive mixture and dangerous.

This is not just my opinion, but hard scientific fact.

Just think, if you could generate electric power from nothing, every auto manufacturer would be knocking on your door. Even more, we could shut down every coal, oil, nuclear, wind, solar power plant and use this method. But, sad to say, you can never get something from nothing, so we will have to stick with our fossil fuels and hope nuclear/solar/wind power comes on line in time.

  3. Hydrogen is made by electrolysis of water. The mass of one liter water at standard conditions is far greater than one liter of hydrogen at the same conditions. Gases obey gas law P=nRT. So do not get confused between mass and volume of the hydrogen and that of the water.

By the way the hydrogen generator idea does not work. You will use a lot more energy making the hydrogen than what you will get out as work when you combust the hydrogen.

To save gas you are better off using a fuel efficient car and travelling less. Good luck

  4. HHO, sound's like the "Brown's Gas" scam.  Also, do not confuse 1 liter of water with 1 liter of hydrogen gas  -- not the same, as others have pointed out.
