  1. Here's a link to their site;

    http://www.jared.com/webapp/wcs/stores/s...

  2. 4,000

  3. I went through them, and I absolutely adored their selection, their service, and their pricing.  I looked at about 6 places, including Shane Co, Kay, Solomon, and Zales--and Jared was by far the best.  I loathe their commercials, but the store was excellent.

    You should look at a few stores before making your final purchase.  Because diamond pricing varies by cut, clarity, color, and carat, it's hard to say what you'd pay.  But I am confident that Jared is your best bet.  I really enjoyed working with them.

    And I disagree with the above poster.  I found the opposite to be true about big name stores.  Mall jewelers, department stores, and others are way over priced in comparison and the quality isn't as good.  Though, don't take my word for it.  I suggest you do lots of your own research.

    Best of luck.  Congratulations.

  4. Don't go there!  Seriously, big chain stores like that will rip you off.

    You are going to pay way more that you have to and get a really low quality (less sparkle) diamond, even though it might be a full carat.  They will up sell you on carat size for as much as you can possibly afford.

    Do lots of research before going into any jewelry store.  Check out bluenile.com and their diamond education pages.  That will teach you everything you need to know about diamonds and how they are priced.  I even recommend pricing out a ring on their site so you can go to a jewelry store and compare all the specifications and see the price difference.  Then you will also know what you are looking for too.

    Bluenile.com has amazing prices and selection, their prices are close to wholesale, my fiance did all his research on that site and the only reason he didn't buy there is because he personally knows a jeweler that sold him the diamond and sapphires for my ring and cost as a favour to his family.

  5. Sweetie...before you go off buying a diamond please get educated on it.  I'm not saying that to be mean but its not as simple as just going in and buying a 1 carat.  You should know your color preferences, you should go for an ideal cut to very good cut stone, you should make sure there are no inclusions.

    Jared is the worst for diamonds because they tax so much.  They really are awful and most of the diamonds are certified (it is VERY important you get a certified stone).  You can get a 1 carat for $4,000 as someone suggested but it won't be a super sparkly one.

    Go to www.pricescope.com and let them help you.  Go to the Rocky Talky forum and they will lead you in the right direction.

    I'll give you a personal example...they were offering me a .75ct J VS2 poor cut round stone for $3500.  After doing the right research, I ended up with a .75 G VS2 for $2500.  It was $1,000 less AND a better color and excellent cut.  Don't get ripped off by Jareds.
