What is most impressive about Abigail Adams's intervention on her husband's behalf in his quarrel with Thomas Jefferson?

  1. The fact that anyone bothered to listen to her, as women were not seen as intellectual equals at the time.


  2. What I thought was most impressive was the way she kept her cool so to speak, while she intervened on her husband's behalf she did so in a much more intellectual way than he did.  John Adams had a bad temper and even when he was in the right when he argued he still had a tendency to come across as someone who looked down upon and belittled others for disagreeing with him.  Abigail by contrast could argue her point with a very calm demeanor and come across as the intelligent person she was.
