  1. LSD is currently being studied by the medical community for possible uses in treating mental illness.

The chemical components are absorbed into your body fat, not your bones.  Thus, you can have psychotic episodes long after you ingested the initial dose.

Its just plain dangerous to play with recreational drugs.  The people who prepare them are after money, not your friendship, nor do they care if you live or die.

  2. LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) is effective in small quantities - as low as 25 µg. It affects a large number of the G protein coupled receptors, including all dopamine receptor subtypes, all adrenoreceptor subtypes as well as many others. LSD binds to most serotonin receptor subtypes except for 5-HT3 and 5-HT4.

In short, it affects the brain, causing effects which include illusions of colored patterns behind the eyes, a sense of time distorting, crawling geometric patterns, and the loss of the user's sense of identity.

Physical reactions to LSD are highly variable and may include  uterine contractions, hypothermia, fever, elevated levels of blood sugar, goose bumps, increase of heart rate, jaw clenching, perspiration, pupil-dilation, saliva production, mucus production, sleeplessness, paresthesia, euphoria, hyperreflexia, tremors and synesthesia. None of these effects has been related to spinal damage. LSD users report numbness, weakness, trembling, and nausea.Estimates for the lethal dosage (LD50) of LSD range from between 200 µg/kg to more than 1 mg/kg of human body mass, though most sources report that there are no known human cases of such an overdose.

Yes, spinal damage can cause permanent paralysis, but its not because of LSD

  3. No. LSD is metabolized by the liver. LSD is among the list of drugs that cannot be found in spinal fluid.

  4. Don't know about the LSD part, but, I do know that if you crack your back you could become paralyzed or something worse.(i.e. vegetable)...

  5. If you break your back, you can be paralyzed for life.  Yep.  Whether you're on acid, alcohol, uppers, downers, or on a mountain.  LSD has nothing to do with the back breaking.   What it DOES do is create intense hallucinations, and generally mess up your thought processes.  So you can do really stupid things without necessarily even knowing you're doing anything, and thinking all is OK.  So you may be more likely to break your back (or your arm, your head, your leg, or your furniture) than you would be if you were thinking clearly.   If you take LSD you don't take enough to physically change something like the strength of your bones.  It acts in small quantities on the chemistry of your brain.
