When you fill out forms to get medicaid during a pregnancy there is a box to check that asks about any bills 3 months prior to the date of application, does that mean that they will cover the bill from the last 3 months?????? And The date that you fill out for medicaid are you covered on that day on??????

I would ask my case worker but for some reason she will not get back to me on this matter... I am currently in a lawsuit bcause I owe money for a doctors bill 3 days after I filled out the app. for medicaid and for some reason they are saying that I wasn't covered then, but the lady at the health clinic told me, the day I filled out the app, that I was covered now and to go ahead and make my doctors appointment...

...and in the past on my last pregnancy medicaid even paid 3months prior to the date of when I filled out the form for medicaid of past due bills....

What do you know about all this????

  1. Typically, when you fill out a medicaid application, coverage is at least from the date of the application.  Often, it can be from the date of illness or injury.  I would bring copies of the bills you are having problems with and take them to the medicaid office and find out why they are not getting paid/insist that they get paid.  The squeaky wheel often times gets the grease.
