Question about Oil in U.S.A?

Is it Possible to dig for Oil in the U.S.A ? If so why don't we just get out Oil here ?

At one time we were the largest producer of oil in the world.  But we have been burning it up for over 100 years and can no longer produce enough to satisfy our use.  So we must import oil from other countries.  We still produce about 40 % of our needs.  If the world doesn't stop using it at the present rate there will be non left in the whole world eventually.  By the way we drill for oil.

Even if we allowed drilling in all the areas that are now restricted we would still not produce enough for our needs.

The USA has lots of oil. California is not drilling though oil is off the coast, in the central valley-along with natural Gas. Colorado has lots but some was caped in the past. Texas is hitting it big as they have drilled in old holes and found more oil. We have oil in Alaska.

We must have a law that says to burn any fuel it must do work.

We must have a Pollution Tax.

We must have a progressive consumption tax.

Yes, but there isn't nearly as much as in Canada or the Middle East.

It'd be a lot easier to just use electric-powered cars.  But, there's too much opposition and money to be made off oil still.

We'll have to wait a few more decades...

heck if government and public had the 'family jewels' solar on ur roofs could make a significant change in a few years.

yes there is, in  Arctic National Wildlife Refuge but the liberals get all crazy about it. they start whining about the polar bears. if we drill there it might get us off of foriegn oil dependence. all you can do is vote republican

we do get oil from here...  Just we don't produce as much as a lot of other places... like iraq... they have just a **** ton of oil there that is very important to the whole world!

The U.S. is the third largest oil producing nation in the world.

So yes we can dig for oil here.
