Question about Parakeet, Birds.!!!!!!! 10 points to best answer?

Ok I had 2 parakeets. One died and I have had only one for about a year. I want to get my bird a new parakeet partner. I want the birds to get along, and my bird is light blue, should I get the same color bird as the other. What can you suggest. ALSO ALSO

How can I tell if my bird is a male or female, please if you can include pix.

How can I get them to have new parakeet chicks. What do i need like what type of nest and etc. (please give info.)

ok calm down first thing! ok same color bird ask a vet or a pet shop owner if it is mature if you want pics go google.com and google images

google light blue parakeet then go to wikipeadia and reaseach the type of bird and ask what type of nest i hope i helped a lot plz give me best answer plz plz.

You might want a different colored bird, so you can easily tell them apart.

on females, the fleshy part (cere) above the beak is whitish-bluish.

Males have a pinkish cere.

if they want to mate, they will. You cant stimulate it.

if the bird is mature, it DOES NOT have black stripes on its head.

color doesn't matter to a parakeet they will get along with any other parakeet even if it's not at first, the older one will probably be more bossy though.

males have a blueish colored nostril area while females are more beige, males color doesn't show until they are mature. http://www.parakeetcare.org/parakeet-pic...

if you want them to breed they will only breed if there is one male and one female if there are more than that they won't breed, and also you would need to install a nest for them like this: http://www.petguys.com/-791611015740.htm... and line it with something like straw.

you can tell if a bird is mature by their size for one thing and the color of their feathers are more intense.

okay, i have the same color bird and i wanted to get a mate and we got a yellow gree mate she is sooo pretty,a boy birds have a blue purple nose and a girl has a yellow pink nose well i hope i could help as much as i could

no that way u dont get them mixed up

put the cage of the new bird next to the cage of the bird you have already

     blue is guy

     pink girl

go to a petstore they should know how to get your birds ready to mate
