  1. In general, Power Items are the best to use. Why? Well because of this:

    • Macho Brace doubles. Say you were battling a Gengar, you would get 6 sp. attack EVs each time you defeat one.

    • Power Lens adds four to the EVs, so every time you defeated a Gengar, you would get 7 sp. attack EVs.

If you add in PokéRus, then it doubles as well.

    • Macho Brace would only give you a maximum of 12 EV points.

    • The Power Items would give you a maximum of 14 EV points.

Don't worry about the Power Items' side effect. The minus speed effect only applies in battles. Once you take the item off, then your Pokémon's speed is not decreased any more.

I recommend that you first give the correct amount of Vitamins. Say you were EV training in Speed. First, give 10 Carbos to your Pokémon. Then let your Pokémon have Pokérus and let it hold Power Anklet for speed. This way, your Pokémon will always get 14 speed points every time you defeat a 3 EV-point Speed Pokémon. Or 12 if its a 2 EV-point Speed Pokémon. The process also goes goes by faster.

Be careful with Pokérus though. If your Pokémon is with you (in your Party), and you save, then play the next day, PokéRus will most likely be cured. I suggest placing your PokéRused Pokémon in your PC if your planning on not playing for a long time. Otherwise, without Pokérus, EV training gets a lot harder.
