Am i starting my period before i am supost to? I have NOT had a period on my own in over a year. I know this drug works as a withdrawl from it causes the reacting of your period to start so how come i have started before i was done with the pills? Should i take the rest of the pills ? Its friday so No one is going to be at my OBGYN ?

  1. I'm sure by now you've been in touch with your doctor...but I would finish the pills.  Good luck!

  2. Some women will occasionally start spotting or even get their period while they are still supplementing the progesterone.  If you are taking the Prometrium to lengthen your luteal phase, which it sounds like you are, 12 days is sufficient for implantation, however it is important that you discuss what happened with your doctor at the next appointment or sometime during the follicular phase of this cycle if you don't have an appointment yet to ensure that you are taking the right dose (you wouldn't want to start spotting any earlier than 12DPO).  Just because it happened once does not mean it will ever happen again since every woman's cycle is different each month.  For most women that experience bleeding on progesterone supplements it is an isolated incident, like breakthrough bleeding on the birth control pill.
