I want to full time at somepoint and was wondering which is better a fiver or a TT. I will be alone or with one teenager (depending on when I start this) and size is not a huge issue I don't need a 35 foot rv. I heard that fivers are easier to pull then a TT but is it true??? thanks for all answers.

  1. if you have the right truck to pull a 5th weeler

  2. Sometimes referred to as a “mini” motor-home, and ranging in length from 16 to 32 feet, the Class C motor-home is built on a cut-a-way van chassis.

The Class C is easily distinguished by the sleeping area built above the cab. This design allows for larger living areas and bathroom accommodations in the main area of the RV.

The Class C motor-home can be 9 to 10 feet tall, giving plenty of head room. Similar to the Class A motor-homes, the cockpit is open to the living quarters in the rest of the vehicle.

These features make this type of motor-home good for weekend traveling and shorter vacations, giving you many of the advantages of the Class A motor-home, but at a smaller price.

  3. I have to agree with D M.  A class A or class C would probably be best.  That along with a little tow-car.  I have been full timing for the better part of 29 years (started when I was 25).  Many of the class A's have a lot of storage, which is something you will need when you do go full time.  I started out with a 20' class A then upgraded to a 34' class A.  The gas mileage will be about the same for a 5th wheel or a tag-a-long as it would for a class A with tow car.  The difference is that when you need to run about for groceries. sight-seeing and such you will have a little car that gets great mileage as opposed to running about in a truck that may (if you are very lucky) get 10-12 mpg.  The main difference in all of these vehicles is backing up!  Takes a lot of practice with a trailer and with a class A (or C) you will have to disconnect before backing up.

f I can be of any assistance, feel free to contact me.

  4. A class A or C driver would be better than a tower

  5. Depending on your age, I would/wouldn't go with a TT. If you are older, a TT can be hard on your body. If you are younger, then it shouldn't be a problem. I have owned a TT for 12 years and we have gone from Nova Scotia to Arizona in it :P

And no, a TT isn't hard to pull at all
