Question:

Question about SAAS?

I am currently doing a course at college and have just applied for a bursary and student award. I received a letter in the post today saying 'Tuition fees we will pay to your college or university: £1,775.00. You must take this award notice to your college or university. If you do not, we cannot pay your support or your tution fees(whichever applies).'

I applied for both the tuition fees AND the bursary but this letter doesn't say anything about the bursary, does that mean I won't get one?

Also, will the £1,775.00 pay for the whole year? And will I be expected to pay this back? Help?

  1. I think them saying "You must take this award notice to your college or university" is the key here.  If this is a legitimate award, the correct office should know about it, and will be able to either answer your questions, or give you the number to call to find the answer to your questions.

You also say that they write "pay your support or your tuition fees(whichever applies" so I think it goes to both tuition and bursary.  As for paying back, is there fine print that says you must?  If it's a loan, then there are documents you have to sign, a lot of them!!!  Perhaps, if you do have to pay back, you will find out when you get to the college office, and they make you sign the papers before they accept this money.

Again, take it to the college office, it's their job to know about these things.
