Question about SOHC ?

can you take the block from a SOHC motor and and use it to make a DOHC motor. Are the blocks the same from a SOHC to a DOHC?

may have to change some timing chain sprocket or some accessory mounts but blocks should be same as long as same size motor

SOHC: Single OverHead Camshaft

DOHC: Dual OverHead Camshaft

The engine block should be identical, it's the cylinder heads that are different. If it's the same model engine (ex. going from D16 SOHC to D16 DOHC), it should be bolt-on with the proper ECU and sensors/wiring.
