Question:

Question about Sarah Palin and her daughter's pregnancy?

Sarah Palin is anti-abortion so since her daughter became pregnant, the correct response to the media would be to have the child. However, legally, does Palin have a say in whether her daughter goes through with an abortion or has the baby?

  1. No she has no say over her daughters choice. My biggest issue is forcing a 17 and 18 year old to get married because of a baby. Just because she got pregnant does NOT mean she should get married.

Sarah Palin is NOT against birth control she preaches abstinence but then says if you do have s*x use protection. You don't have to just preach one thing.

  2. no it's her daughter's choice

  3. No. The girl is 17..It's her decision.

  4. I would presume that while her daughter is a minor, she does have a say. I think the best solution, however, is for the mother and daughter to be in agreement over the course of action. This way, everyone wins. I know the ideal situation does not happen always, but in this case, I'd say that the daughter likely is in agreement with her mother.

  5. Hello Democrats...this is perfect for you since you all want us to pay for your parties medicare, Medicaid, and welfare!  Sarah Palin can not be everywhere her daughter is, and can not control if her daughter has s*x. I am sure almost all of you had s*x around 17 or 18.

  6. No legally her Mother does not have a say.

  7. No. In Alaska, a teenager 17 and older can obtain an abortion without parental permission or notification. Her mother would not legally have a say in her daughter's pregnancy.

  8. I don't know for sure, but her daughter will have the baby.

  9. What else is there to do in Alaska besides hunt, eat moose meat and make babies?

Clearly, Sarah Palin is totally out of touch with main stream America. She lives up in the hinterlands and has no idea what goes on in the lower 48.

Sarah Palin's idea of womanhood is to pump out as many babies as one can in the shortest amount of time possible and then get political and fight for the pro-lifers.

Her poor daughter who has fallen victim to this archaic view of womanhood is now is being made a spectacle of in the national news media due to her untimely teen pregnancy.

Sarah Palin has her work cut out for her at home with her family and obviously it sounds quite out of control at this point. How can she possibly be effective in the political arena when she is a young mother herself with special needs kid and a teen pregnancy to deal with?

  10. The daughter is a minor and non emancipated. The parents have control.

Isnt it a shame that a lot of folks think the correct thing to do is suck the baby from the mother's womb and flush it down a drain.

Barack Obama says he would not want to punish his daughters if they became pregnant...PUNISH...what does that tell you?

  12. No she would have no say in what her daughter decides to do. Even though she is under 18. Hopefully she has raised her daughter to accept the consequences of her decisions and raise the baby instead of murdering it for her own convenience like some women.

Most republicans do not believe in birth control bc they are pro life and believe life happens at conception.  Most people do not know that when you take certain forms of birth control it actually forms a lining on your uterus, instead of stopping ovulation,  so that the conceived baby can not attach itself to the Uterine wall. Therefore can receive no nourishment and dies. It is then either absorbed by your body or passed when you have your next period. Most women don't even know they were pregnant.  For people that believe that life starts at conception, that is still an abortion. They believe in condoms, spermicide,  diaphragms..etc. Something that stops the sperm from reaching the egg to fertilize it.

  13. Well, I don't think there is a conflict between mother and daughter about an abortion. Yes, Gov.Palin is against abortion, and I believe that her daughter is as well. Maybe she just wants to do the right thing and take care of the baby that she created. So what if she is still a teenager. The only reason this is getting any publicity is because of who her mother is. I was a teenage mother, and a very good one at that. I have two kids and they turned out just fine. But ot answer your question, legally, I don't think she could stop her daughter from having an abortion if she chose to. Hopefully, her mother has instilled some morals and values in her, and she'll do the right thing. Keep her baby and take care of it.

  14. Palin could sign papers saying she could get an abortion, but the daughter can get an abortion whether she "allows" it or not.

  15. No, she does not have a say.  Why would this even be an issue?  As far as I can tell, they seem to have everything very well under control.  As for the one who made comments about Palin's large family and also a snotty remark regarding Palin not believing in BC, perhaps she WANTED a large family...just a thought.  Additionally, maybe she was trying to teach her children abstinence rather than say "GO HAVE s*x!!  JUST USE A CONDOM!"  I know that's the responsible parent's advice, right?  Additionally, in today's society, teen pregnancy rates are at their highest EVER in history.  Could this be because of this liberal agenda pushing for teaching BC rather than abstinence?  We're seeing the results if this asinine mentality when it comes to teens and s*x.  It was obviously a mistake.  I think VERY few people choose to be pregnant at 17.  I'm willing to bet there's a BUNCH in this forum though, so who are you people to judge?  She made a bad judgment call and is taking responsibility with the help of her family.  Good for her and all of the Palins.  You people need to get a grip.  This is the stupidest political tactic I have seen in a LONG time.  Let's talk about a normal family with a SEVENTEEN year old that is pregnant.  If that's the worst you can come up with for these people, then they're more than likely better off than 90% of the regular Americans out there.  I'm through talking about such an idiotic topic.  It's convenient to bash her when she's a Republican, but you'd be PRAISING her if she was a liberal because that's what liberals do...hypocrisy at it's finest.

  16. No--I don't think legally she does.  The Problem is that Sarah palin is against BIRTH CONTROL.  That would explain why her own daughter is pregnant.  Her daughter had no where to turn when she became sexually active.  I consider that very irresponsible on Sarah Palin and her husband's part.

  17. Hm...While I realize that this is about a pregnant PERSON, this should NOT be in the pregnancy section. Try Ethics.

  18. different states have different requirements for minors having abortions if she is a minor she might have to have permission
