Question about Save the Date cards?

We're not going to do Save the Date cards. However, we have been thinking we have family in england, nova scotia, alberta, all over the place really. Is it okay to send save the date cards to those who need to travel far distances and not send them to the rest. We do have a website on theknot.com already but have no emails for some of these people.

So okay, is this alright to do? or should it be all or nothing?

Any other suggestions would be great too!

thanks!

  1. If you only have 5 people that you would send them to, why don't you just call them instead?

  2. Why don't you just send Save the Date Postcards to everyone? It's a lot cheaper.

  3. I would go ahead and send them to the five families. Find a sample of one that you like on the net and copy and paste it into a word document and print them on card stock. I wouldn't order them, though, not just for 5 people. I'm gonna do the same thing. The ones like my aunts and uncles that are close to me, I'm not gonna worry about it, but as far as my honey's family down in Florida, my friend out in Cali, etc. I'm doing them for.

  4. If you don't send Save the Date cards, then you will have to send the invitations much earlier so everyone can get ready to travel for the event. If you don't want to send all the invitations early, then just send Save the Date cards to everyone so you can send the real invitations  whenever you want!

Edit: Well if it's a small wedding, you might as well send the Save the Date cards to everyone if you're gonna send any at all.

  5. Just send them to everyone. You would be surprised how much they help. When I was planning my wedding I just went ahead and went to discount stores like Tuesday Morning and found some really nice paper for cheap and printed them off myself. They were just as nice as paying someone else a lot of money to do them for me. And I was able to get them done quickly since my original order for them got messed up, but it turned out to be even better because I got to make them exactly how I wanted w/out having to pay extra for every little thing.  In fact, I included hotel information on my to help out people even more with planning there travels. Just imagine how much that would have cost if I went through someone else to have them printed out.
