since the entire movie was in black and white, what did the girl in the pinkish-red dress symbolize?

The girl in the red dress was a real girl named Roma Ligocka. Unlike her film counterpart, she survived the war, and wrote a memoir titled "The Girl in the Red Coat: A Memoir".

The twist on Ligocka's story, turning "The Girl in the Red Coat" into one more pile on the cart of corpses to be incinerated happens also in the novel that inspired the film, "Schindler's Ark" by author Thomas Keneally. Spielberg explained that he only followed the book and his interpretation was that "America and Russia and England all knew about the Holocaust when it was happening, and yet we did nothing about it. We didn’t assign any of our forces to stopping the march toward death, the inexorable march toward death. It was a large bloodstain, primary red color on everyone’s radar, but no one did anything about it. And that’s why I wanted to bring the color red in."

The little girl was innocent like all of the other jews massacred, but she was so young and fragile, with no one to protect her, and when Schindler noticed her, the director wanted us the viewers to remember her and follow her story too.  All the way to a brutal end.  This addition of color allows the audience to feel the suffering in a gut wrenching way.

Not quite sure, im only 14 lol and this is a movie with a lot of sub meaning and all that.

But im going to guess the girl in the red coat represents innocence, since Schindler observes her walking casually down the street, while all kinds of atrocities occur all around her. It's shown later in the movie that not even the little girl (innocence) was safe from the n***s.
