I recently bought a newer car and when I go through the radio functions there is CD, Tuner and Sirius. Does that mean all I have to do is go to the website and get a subscription? What are your thoughts on Sirius radio? Worth it or not?

  1. yeah you just need a subscription.

it is TOTALLY worth it, i have sirius and it's awesome, i never listen to regular radio anymore.

it has a million music stations and comedy stations, football, news, kids music, etc

  2. One of our cars has Sirrius, the other has XM.  To be honest, I can't tell much difference between the two.

We take road trips and drive all around on our vacations.  That is where satellite radio really has an advantage over broadcast radio.  There is no need to constantly search for a new station because you're now out of range.  Plus, there are several areas (especially at night) where absolutely nothing is available on broadcast.  That was the primary reason we got satellite radio.  I can't say we absolutely love it, but it's worth it to us.

XM & Sirrius are both monthly subscriptions.  Sirrius used to have a lifetime subscription, which I purchased with the new car a month before they discontinued this offer.

  3. Yes, just go to the website and register - they will activate your subscription and your radio. You'll need the VIN of your car and/or the serial number of the radio - and of course a credit card. Study the website first to determine which plan works best for you.

Either of the satellite services is, in my opinion, well worth it.
