i just bought one because i like taking photos whenever I'm out.

I don't know a thing about cameras, i just bought it because it has a pretty high mega pixels and i want my photos to be clear.

my questions are:

1. what things is this camera best to take photos with?

2. what does ISO mean? and ISO+?

3. there is this feature about smiles? what is it for?

Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience. :D

  1. 1) P&S cameras work best in good light. Anything where you have pretty strong and EVEN light will give you the best photos. If it gets too dark, you will need to be careful of camera shake, i.e. blur. Use a tripod to help with that.

    2) ISO is like film speed in film cameras. Lower numbers mean better quality but need best light, higher numbers for lower light situations, but you will lose quality and introduce noise/grain.

    3) Try reading your manual and you'll learn this:

"Smile Shutter™ technology captures smiles the moment they happen - without the need to press the shutter. The mode can be set to capture when your subject laughs, smiles or even grins, and like Face Detection is able to differentiate children and adults to set priority."

I strongly suggest you go to your library and borrow a few books on basic photography. You will be MUCH happier with the photos your produce if you learn a bit about it.
