Question about Sony Handycam???

Question

Ok so I'm going to get a Sony DCR-HC62 MiniDV Handycam and I'm wondering how can I transfer the videos I take to my Toshiba Laptop ( its a new model) and also can I watch the videos on my TV??? Will I need to buy a Fire Wire Cable or something else?? And finally do you think I picked a good camcorder or not?? Thanks!

Sony is a very good camera!

If you are using windows there is a program already installed on there called Windows movie maker! go to start the programs , you should see it. You can use that program to make and burn dvds to watch on your tv. MOst macs have a dvd burning program on them as well.Or if you just want to watch from your camera, you should have received a red yellow and white cable that will plug straight into your tv from your camera!

You might need a firewire cable depending if it is a newer model or not (it most likely will need a firewire cable not included)  and make sure that the laptop has a firewire input
