Is the willow flower herb and white willow the same herb or are they different? and what are their benefits?

No, they are different, entirely.

White willow refers to the bark of the tree. It contains salicyn, the natural form of aspirin, for pain & fever & inflammation.

Willow flower is often used as a "flower essence" by Balch & others. Read about its properties here: http://www.anandaapothecary.com/english/...

Salix nigra (aka Black Willow flower) is also brewed into a tea (although not well known) for blocked urination caused by enlarged prostate.
