Question about TransUnion free credit report?

Hi everyone, I try to get a free credit report on annualcreditreport.com ----> TransUnion website. But I don't know why it said:

Privacy Protection

The Identity Security System isn't able to confirm your identity.

Explanation:

The Identity Security System confirms your identity through a series of questions based on accounts and personal information contained in your Personal Credit Report. The system was unable to get enough information from the Personal Credit Report to complete this process.

What to do:

Please return to annualcreditreport.com and order your Personal Credit Report by phone or mail.

I am sure all the information I enter is correct and I tried 6 times already, but I got the same message. I don't want ot order by mail and phone, because I need to wait 2 -3 weeks. Can someone help me please?

I got a report from Experian 7 months. And I got one from Equifax few days ago, so TransUnion is the only one I can have. (I want to get one from TransUnion, because I want to compare it to the one from Equifax .

  1. If they have your account flagged, there is no way around it. You will have to mail in your request to get your free report from them. My wife had to do this and she got hers in about a week.

Calling them will probably not work. You will spend a week with them on the phone.

  2. TransUnion can be a tough one to pull your credit report as they do ask alot of security questions to release your report. I worked there 8 years ago, so, they just want to verify it's you...You may have given them all the information you think is correct, though someone may have reported something different than what you know, this is why they are requesting it by phone or by mail. Calling them will not take long. I put a freeze on mine last year as I had someone reporting erroneous information on mine, I called them this year and had them un freeze, and it took maybe 10 minutes to process, they will ask you the security questions and if you don't know one of them, insist you have no idea what they are talking about, and they should be able to release the report to you online like you processed on annualcreditreport.com...Once I called them, I had my credit report and able to print it out in no time....Good Luck!!

  3. I also pulled reports via annualcreditreport.com from all three bureaus. Unfortunately, it seems TransUnion is actually requiring you to submit your credit card number and sign up for their "30 day risk free trail" before they allow you to access your report online. (I even checked directly on the site with my old member login). I personally don't think that is fair, but unsure if they have gotten enough complaints on the matter. While most people may be ok with giving a card number and immediately canceling, i was under the impression the three bureaus were supposed to give that information freely once per year. Until they change that method, i'm sticking with the two i got so far. (or likely have to mail request one from TransUnion)
