Question about US veteran education benefits?

My dad is a retired, disabled Marine. I get education benefits from the VA because of this. I am taking a 2 year transfer program at a local community college. If I were to switch to another community college afterwards and start another 2 year degree program would they still pay me benefits? My mom thought they'd stop unless I moved on to a four year degree.

DEA provides education and training opportunities to eligible dependents of veterans who are permanently and totally disabled due to a service-related condition, or who died while on active duty or as a result of a service related condition. The program offers up to 45 months of education benefits. These benefits may be used for degree and certificate programs, apprenticeship, and on-the-job training. If you are a spouse, you may take a correspondence course. Remedial, deficiency, and refresher courses may be approved under certain circumstances.

So with this new benefits package enacted, you are entiteled to  45 months of educatiion.  Use them wisely, I would suggest you move on to advance your degree, after all having just 2 associate degrees is not that great, far better to have at least a BS.

Actually until you're 23 and a student your Dad gets extra money. Check with the veterans officer at your college or your county's veterans service officer.

why don't you enlist and get your OWN GI Bill educational benefits?!

i'm pretty sure you would still get the same amount of benefits.

to be sure you should check with the D.V.A website under dependent education.
