Question about United Airline luggage and Carrys.?

Question

I have some questions on what i am able to bring onto the united airlines plane. First i checked on their website and i don't really get exactly what they are saying so im trying to make sure so i don't have to throw anything away like last time:( ok umm first for when i pack my luggage for the plane i saw on their website it has to be less than 50 pounds right? and if it weighss more you have to pay extra? and second for the carry on, i heard that you can bring as big as you want carry on, like as big as a suitcase but that they have to check it?not sure, and their can't be any liquids or food and other stuff??im not sure, can you help me on those ones. and i also heard that you can also bring one personal item like a purse or laptop and stuff, can you guys tell me what size the carryon has to be and if i can bring liquids in my suitcase and what i can't bring and also for my carry on and size for purse and stuff im not really sure what to do Please help!! thankS!

not sure on exacts for that airline, but heres what i know.

liqiuds in your suitcase - totally fine. ziploc, ziploc, ziploc!!! in the rare case that anything explodes, this way it doesn't get on your stuff. oh, and tip - don't bag your say bug spray with say shampoo. if they both explode in the same bag, then they're not salvagable.

suitcase - for my trip i'm going to mexico, and our suitcase can't be more than 62 linear inches. (H+W+L). it also can't be more than 50 pounds. (i.e. use a scale at HOME to make sure!). a second bag is going to cost you 25$ each way.

not sure on size of carryons, but i reccommend a normal backpack, and a purse. i think some airlines allow liquids 2oz and under in a clear ziptop bag. make sure to call or check the wesite to see. you have to present these when they check your carry - SO REMEMBER- put it in the bin!

i found this info on the united site for carry ons - For travel worldwide on United, you may carry on one bag and one personal item such as a purse, briefcase, or laptop computer.

A carry-on bag must fit under your seat or in the overhead bin.

Carry-on bag dimensions should not be more than 9 x 14 x 22 in/22 x 35 x 55 cm (length + width + height) or 45 linear in/112 linear cm (the length, height and width added together).

Yep like she said^^ can't be over 50lbs. or you'll be charged but some airelines let you have 75lbs bags.

if it's going to be in your carry-on 1quart zip-lock bag 3oz. items you can have shampoo and what not just not in your carry-on.

carry-on have to fit in the compartment above your head...so anything backpack size should do good. if your gonna bring food 3 oz. rule has to be followed otherwise wait till you get pass security. *3oz. has to be the size bottle* little bit over is ok
