OK so i havent been to school to pick up my A level results yet, but ive checke the Ucas track site an luckily ive got my "unconditional" place at my chosen university.

The problem is ive recently changed my mind about where i want to go, and i was wondering whether or not i would still be able to apply to my new choice of Uni through clearing - in other words is clearing just for those students who fail to get the required grades? or am i also allowed apply to the new university because ive changed my mind?

please answer!!! thanx :D

  1. Generally I think UCAS says if you've made your choice you should stick to it and that you won't be allowed to go through clearing.

In practice though, you can ring up your uni and ask if they'll release you. after that you'll have to ring round other uni's you are interested in and try to get a place with them. I'd suggest you decide quick and start getting on with it, as there'll be a lot of panicked students ringing round uni's soon, and the best places will go quick =).

Just make sure you think it through, if you've got an unconditional place, that's quite a nice position to be in =D.

  2. The freedom which you enjoy and many take for granted is the very thing that enables you to apply to any university you want.

Policies regarding registration to any university are on an individual basis and should be researched either by visiting the university in question, going to their website, or calling the registration office.

There's no cover-all answer to this question.
