What would happen to me if I took Vicodin also known as Hydrocodo everyday for a week, a month, 6 months, ect. The Vicodin I have right now, the bottle says 10-325 I dont know what that means. There are more than 10 pills but im guessing that 325 is the dosage. Anyways I take 2 a day for my back, I just had surgery. What is going to happen to my body if I continue to take it? Also if you could find out what the 10-325 means I would appreciate it.

  1. The longer you use it, the greater your chances of addiction.

The 10/325 numbers refer to the weight of hydrocodone and acetaminophen, in milligrams, in that order.

  2. Vicodin is actualy Hydrocodone-APAP (meaning it's hydrocodone and tylenol) I10-324 is the strength of each in the drug. So it's 10mg Hydrocodone and 325mg Acetaminophen.

As for long term effects I'm not sure, but I do know that many people take it for an extended period of time. If you're worried about side effects I would call the local retail pharmacy you go to and ask to speak to the pharmacist, they should be able to tell you what amount is safe and how long you should be taking it for.

  3. as with any pill, and in your case narcotic, if you took it every day, 1 of 2 things would happen.

    1.  you would become an addict, or

    2.  you would develop a resistance to that one pill.

After a while, you wouldn't even feel it, but if you suddenly had to stop taking them (i.e., you ran out, you would be very uncomforatble).  Opiates have a delicious beginning, but never a lovely ending.

Enjoy them now for your pain.  If you want to be hooked, try out taking a few every day for over a year.  They are easy to buy online or from friends...but is that what you want?

    Good luck.

  4. I think people are being a little unfair to the poster. They aren't taking the drug recreationally, they are concerned about the potential for addiction if they have to take the Vicodin for an extended period of time due to the back surgery.

What you've been told about the numbers is true.As to how long you can take it, well that depends on the person. But if you have to take it for more than say a week or two, be sure that you don't stop cold turkey. You should speak to your doctor about how to gradually reduce the Vicodin until you are safely off of it. It can be very unpleasant physically if you stop cold turkey.

  5. yea dont take them everyday thats a no no...just crush a few up and rail them s**+*s once tho makes u mad high

  6. The 10 is the dose of the actual drug mixed with 325 mg of tylenol. eventually your body will get adjusted to the dose and won't be as affective. need to get your doctor to switch you for a couple of weeks to something else and then go back. if you only take 2 a day, you are lucky.  my pain is so bad, morphine does not have much affect.

FYI - not everyone has withdrawal symptoms. I don't. I have taken them for months at a time, then stopped cold turkey with no problems.

  7. You really need to ask a doc about this one.  Rx.com and other sites can also tell you about the long term side effects of this medication.  Opitates are known to have addictive qualities.

  8. just FYI you do not have Vicodin in your possession, Hydrocodone/APAP 10/325 is Norco. It is a painkiller just like Vicodind, so what everuone has said is still true, but I just wanted to point that out

  9. You should not mess with drugs recreationally if you dont know what you are doing, and you clearly dont.

The 10/325 is the dosage.  The 10 means there is 10 mg of the thebiene derivative and the 325 means 325 mg apap, or the tylonal derivative.

So for each pill you are getting 10 mg narcotic, and 325 tylonal.

If you use it as directed for the pain after your surgery, and discontinue the use as directed, you will suffer a lil less and be fine.  If you try to use it recreationally or abuse it, you could end up addicted.  And ofcourse, tylonal damages the liver.  The opiate will leave you medicated.  If can loose your job if you test positive without a legal current script.  If you are in an accident at work or on the road and get drug tested, you can be held liable, even with a script.
