I could stay about 90 days in each country with no problem. Is it still that way, or is it now about 90 days in the EU?

I probably won't go then. It is h**l to be forced across the pond regardless of weather.

  1. If you would tell us what nationality/citizenship you have and which countries you plan to visit it would be no problem to answer your question.

  2. As US citizen you fall in the visa waiver program, that means that you enter for the same time as the people with visa but without having to apply for one beforehand.

That way you can only stay 90 days out of 180, in all countries of the Schengen zone.

The UK is not in it, nor is Ireland, (or Israel.)

If you expect to spend longer in the Schengen zone you can still apply for visa, some places state that you have to apply before leaving for Europe, others that you can expand your entry visa (the visa waiver program stamp in your passport) and that way you can stay up to 180 days without problems, but if I were you, I would contact one embassy or consulate of one of the countries where you hope to go and ask them.

Your situation is different from what most tourist need to know, so you may be able to get different visa as well.

It is certainly not 90 days in each country anymore, but there might be a loophole for you I do not know about.
