Question about Wellbutrin...

Question

I am currently on lexapro for my anxiety. I like it b/c I have no major side effects and it works well. The only thing is I am gaining weight! I eat like a horse now and I just dont care about working out like I used to!

I have heard that Wellbutrin is sometimes used for anxiety and it helps you to lose weight, but I was wondering what the side effects are? Also, has anyone used it for anxiety?

Everyone reacts to medications a little bit differently but this is what happened to me on Wellbutrin - when I first started taking it I had stomach pain for the first 3 weeks.  I was about to ask the doctor for something different when it finally went away.  I did not lose any weight on Wellbutrin, but I didn't gain either.  Wellbutrin worked well for my depression but it was not helpful to treat my anxiety, it actually seemed to increase my anxiety.   However, right now I am taking Effexor and it is helping me lose weight and it treats my depression and anxiety.  I do have dry mouth though.  Whatever you try, I wish you the best of luck!
