But heavy whipping cream is 0 carbs. So, if I make whipped cream out of heavy whipping cream, then it will be 0 carbs right?

  1. No, the carbs in heavy cream will NOT be 0 grams.

The carbs in heavy cream is not exactly 0.  For 1 cup of heavy cream, there is about 7 grams of carbs.

The serving size of heavy cream is 1 Tablespoon... which works out to 0.43 grams carbs per serving.  The goverment allows companies to round the value so 0.4 grams becomes 0 grams.

Also, you'll be eating more than 1 Tablespoon of cream so the carb count will go up.

    Here's my reference...

Also... if you're cutting carbs to lose weight (for example, Atkins), you just need to stay below 20 grams carbs per day during the induction phase.  The heavy cream will count towards that 20 grams.

I recommend that you use the Atkin's/low carb diet to jump start you losing weight, but many people don't/can't stay on the diet long term.  Consider a healthier eating approach to food after you get burnt out on the low carb diet.

  2. That is correct as long as you don't add sugar.

  3. yea just dont add anything else to it

  4. Correct - just add splenda or some other sweetner.  For another low carb treat - mix the heavy whipping cream with sugar free pudding mix.  You can use an ice cream machine to make ice cream.
