Question about Wicca / Witchcraft?

Question

In the movie The Craft they talk about (i'm going to misspell it) Meinl. Pronounced Mine/Uhl. How do i actually spell this? I would like to do a little research on him/it, and find some good web links. Thanks so much for any answers!

The craft was a bullsh*t movie that really has nothing to do with wicca.

The only thing they did right was showing that giving bad Karma, you will recieve bad Karma.

first off wicca/witchcraft has nothing to do with that movie second off...why are you assuming something you saw in a movie is true and based off beliefs of many...go ask questions about things from a movie in the movie section.

Yeah, I never knew who the heck they were talking about and I don't know if it was a real God or if it was just a made up name. I remember it being pronounced Mannall though.

I personally have studied hundreds of belief systems and religions. I have come across thousands of God’s and Goddess’s in my studies. Yet I can’t remember ever coming across that particular God in my research. Though there are most likely other Gods in history or at present that has his same attribute and abilities. You might want to do a research project on what he represented and what he stood for according to the movie and cross reference it with actual deities known to the world today. Just food for thought!

The god they mention in the Craft is totally made up.  It's important to remember that

a) that movie is fiction

b) they never even mention Wicca in it (although some of the rituals are based on the public version of the Gardnerian BoS.)

Manon...was the god they worshipped. This God does not exist. I have the movie and in the special features it tells about how they made the movie, and that they made up a name for a God.

well if u think that being is real then check out the old gods and see if u can find anything. Im not going agenst my fellow wiccans/pagans, but im more positive and like to help other ppl for what ever they are looking for. Have Fun.

I actually have never heard of him before or after i watched The Craft.In all of my readings about witchcraft no one mentions him and Wicca involves the Goddess and God, two deities.Also i think it is spelled Mano.I also think he was just made for the movie,as I have never heard of a Greek god, or any god called Mano.if anything I would think it was based off of a Hawaiian god because the name sounds from the pacific.

The name of the god they use is actually Manon in the movie and its not a real god in history. Its a god they made up for the movie. The craft is a horrible movie to be watching for anything other than entertainment and has done the pagan community alot of harm with what it portrays as wiccan or pagan in general.

If you want more information on Wicca or pagans in general I would suggest your local half prices or discount books store. There are alot of books that can help you learn more about the religions and the gods and goddesses that are worshiped by pagans.
