Question about XM radio quality?

Hey I have a question about my XM radio I got for my car. I don't know if this is relevant but its a '06 Ford Mustang. I have noticed the quality is not as quite as good as the regular radio is... also its significantly quieter.

I was wondering if there is some way to boost the quality... I saw somthing about a FM somthing? idk

Also some information if you need it: Its power is a lighter hookup thing and the signal is attached to my antenna which is brodcasting to a station that I choose

Please help me boost the quality of my radio =)

The cassette transmitter is better then the antenna one from what we were told. We have 2 XM radios, one in my dodge pick up, and the other in our Freightliner. Both work awesome and the sound is better then the regular radio.

If its quiet, you can also check your settings on the XM reciever, there is a setting in there for how much power the reciever is putting out, that does affect the volume. It took me a while to figure that one out! LOL

Buy the FM Direct Adapter: http://www.myradiostore.com/fmmodulators...

You connect the FMDA's male wire into the female end of your car stereo where the FM antenna was.  You then connect the FMDA's female port to your car's FM antenna.  Then your XM antenna plugs into the FMDA, and the FMDA plugs into your XM receiver.  (There is a diagram in the box, I know what I just wrote makes no sense - In short, you need to get to the back of your car stereo).

there is quite a bit of loss when using the fm transmitter. I bought a cd player that has a line in jack on the front, and I plug mine in direct, Thats about the best way. The cassette tape adapters work better than the fm transmitters, too. Or just get a car stereo that is xm ready. Also, When I was using my fm transmitter, I noticed that the lower frequencies seemed a litlle louder or more clear than the higher ones. I used the 92.1 or so option, I think. It really depends on what the competitive frequencies are where you live. (I mean other fm stations) you want to choose a frequencie where there are not a lot of other stations near the channel you are using.
