Question about Youtube, finding other users?

I'm a new Youtube member, and am having difficulty with this. Maybe I just missed it somehow. Anyway, I know the user name of another member, and I'd like to send him a PM. But as far as I can tell, while one can search for specific videos, one can't search for specific user profiles. Am I wrong about this? If so, how does one go about finding the profile of a particular user, in order to send a PM?

You can just type in youtube.com/ and then the person's user.

when your at youtube.com you will see the youtube search bar, and to the right of it you'll see the option videos/channels search.

pick what one you want and then type in the username you want to find.
