Question about Yu-Gi-Oh! card holo pack.

People say that you can tell if a booster pack has holo cards if you weigh them with a pocket scale, but does this work on packes that have the little pack things with paper backings and plastic on the front? If no, is there another way to tell?

  1. I'm not entirely sure if weighing a pack will allow you to tell whether or not there's a super-, ultra-, secret-, ultrasecret-, or parallel rare inside, since the extra layer of holographic foil may not weigh enough to be able to tell any difference. However, if it is possible, then with the still-packaged packs, maybe try comparing the weights of 5-10 different packs and choose whichever of the packs weighs the most, if any. A good way to experiment whether this works is to take your scale, make 2 stacks of 50 cards, 1 stack with all commons and another with 49 commons and a ultra- or secret-rare. But be wary that a card's condition may effect its weight.
