Question about Zakaat (islamic charity)...

Question

1 - is it mendatory to mention while giving this zakaat (charity) to any one that it's the money of zakaat (charity) we r giving to him or her ? cause, its bit embrrassing for people who is receiving the money..so, without mentionaing its the money of zakaat purpose, can we give the needy people the money as charity?

2 - if my own brother and sister's kids are in financial crisis can i give them my zakaat's money? is it permissible to distribute zakaat among my own brother's kids as they r in very serious financial crysis?

1- Well its not necessary to mention the persons name who is receiving the Zakat

2- Yes u can Give Zakat to ur Poor family members aswell !

you dont have to mention zakat to the recipient,you may give to any one,whom is worthy of zakat,and not only zakat,you can give it more Allah Allmighty is All Knower and all Merciful

1. Well, their are eight types of people mentioned in Hadith to whom one can give Zakkat including Govt Officials. So, there is nothing wrong in pronouncing it to be Zakkat.

2. A woman can give zakkah to her father/brother/husband/son and anyone one else as far as he financial obligation is not put on her shoulder - It is put on the shoulder of the man in the family. It is the duty of the father or the brother, before she is married and the duty of the husband or the son, after she is married to look after her lodging, boarding, clothing and financial aspects of her.

3. A man can not give Zakkat to his family as far as his family members are his financial responsibility.
