Question about a 1994 Nissan Sentra?

I have a 1994 Nissan Sentra and when you come to a stop light it seems like it wants to cut off but it doesn't?what does that mean if anyone know please help me out.

The idle speed is low.

My engine idles at very low rpms and sometimes almost turns off when I don't use the gas.

The mechanic need to adjust the idle speed.

This is not necessary to do. You can drive like this if you want. It is not bad for the car.

But if it bothers you, then get it fixed.
