  1. The temps vary depending on how south you go. You can just get off the boat and go explore the island without taking a ship excursion, many people do. You will have to pay for the extra resturants, there is a nominal fee depending on which. All the other food is included.

  2. Temps will be in the 70-80 most places. You will want to wear sunblock because the UV is going to be more than you are used to for that time of year unless you are from South Florida or something like that. You can get a cheap taxi to many beaches in most ports. Just be sure you know how much the cabin ride is going to cost you in TOTAL before you get in the cab. In some places they will tell you $5 for the trip and then when you go to pay they will say that was per person. Also see if the same cab will pick you up at a certain time and set the price for the return trip. The extra resturant will cost 10-25 per person, but they are worth it.

  3. Here's a site that gives you the normal January weather for all the islands.

    Don't forget the sunscreen!

You don't have to do any of the ships tours if you don't want too. You are free to do your own thing at any port. Just be back to the ship on time. It won't wait.

The extra restaurants have a nominal entrance charge, normally $10 to $15 dollars per head.

    Have a nice cruise.
