I wrote a check earlier today to a business owner at the local small family owned store I frequent. I needed money to for gas get to work tomorrow and couldn't think of any other way so I wrote him a personal check for 40$ and he agreed to post-date and not deposit it until I get paid which is Saturday. My only concern is that he asked me not fill in the "Pay to the Order of" part of the check as his reasoning was the name of the store was different from his actual companies name. I did it, because I was really out of options. What's the worse thing that can happen to me for leaving that field blank?
